Backyard Beekeeping Basics: Biology, Bounty, Benefits, and Beyond

We will explore the life cycles and social behaviors of these tiny creatures that pollinate the majority of our crops, assuring adequate food for planet Earth. From bee anatomy to various roles within the hive and the field, nesting behaviors and the sweet facts about honey and beeswax, we will examine the physical properties of bees (and even mites) with a hands-on portion using frozen specimens.
