As a follow-up to August's program about natural disturbances and stand dynamics, join licensed professional forester Mike Maguire and forest ecologist Erika Rowland to visit several conservation properties with recent human-caused disturbances, aka forest harvests. They will discuss how what is known about stand dynamics in natural systems is applied in forest management, how the range of landowner objectives for their property (as well as many other factors) influences what's left behind (i.e., the residual stand), and speculate on how forest succession will influence the outcome in coming decades.
